California EMT Skills Competency Verification
Verification of skills competency shall be valid for a maximum of two (2) years for the purpose of applying for recertification. The skills requiring verification of competency are:
Patient examination, trauma patient
Patient examination, medical patient
Airway emergencies
Breathing emergencies
CPR/AED
Circulation emergencies
Neurological emergencies
Soft tissue injuries
Musculoskeletal injuries
Obstetrical emergencies

Steps to Recertify:
Complete Continuing Education: Fulfill the 24-hour CE requirement or complete a 24-hour refresher course.
Schedule Skills Verification: Book a skills competency verification session with MedStat.
Gather Required Documents:
A copy of your Current California EMT certification card front and back
A copy of your Government-issued photo identification front and back
Completed EMT Skills Competency Verification Form
Valid BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR card
