About Us
Founded in 2016 MedStat, LLC provides CPR, First Aid, BLS, and Stop the Bleed training to the Antelope Valley. Most recently we have been approved to offer CA EMT Skills Competency Verification and online CAPCE EMS CEU’s. We offer classes designed for people from all walks of life, including newborn and infant CPR classes for family and friends, CPR and First Aid training for schools, BLS classes for medical professionals such as nurses, physicians, EMTs, and paramedics, and Health & Safety classes such as OSHA 10 & 30 as well as workplace mobile drug and alcohol testing services.
Since its creation, MedStat has focused on providing the community with the highest quality Health & Safety training possible. We have 60 years of combined EMS experience in our leadership team and we look forward to “Empowering You to Be a Lifesaver!”
Come to our location or contact us to schedule a class in your home, school, or office! We offer in-person training and blended learning options. Blended learning includes a virtual classroom for the lecture portion and hands on in-person skills practice and testing to receive your certification.
MedStat,LLC is a Health & Safety Institute, an American Red Cross APPROVED training center, and an AHA aligned training site. All First Aid + CPR and BLS programs are AHA (American Heart Association) compliant and adhere to ILCOR guidelines (International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation).

Founder/Program Director
Matt Nybakken, EMT-B
Matt began his career as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in 1998 for a small private ambulance service located in Lancaster, CA. Throughout his career Matt worked his way up from EMT to Operations Supervisor and eventually General Manager for an ambulance service in the Los Angeles area. Matt is a family man and an avid custom car enthusiast and enjoys working on his custom truck. Currently Matt works as an EMT with Los Angeles County DHS. He is an American Heart Association, Health and Safety Institute and American Red Cross First Aid+CPR, BLS and EMR instructor as well as an experienced EMS educator certified through NAEMSE (National Association of EMS Educators). Matt is passionate about public health education, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and public safety.
Clinical Director
Ken Kaufmann, EMT-P
Ken began his career in 1994 as an EMT in Queens, NY and soon progressed to Paramedic in 1998. Being an avid surfer and CrossFit enthusiast he found himself moving to the west coast for the amazing surf among other attributes. Currently he is a state of California certified Paramedic working as an Operations Manager with a local private ambulance service in Southern California. Ken is an aligned (AHA) American Heart Association instructor and an EMS educator certified through NAEMSE (National Association of EMS Educators). Ken is passionate about Physical fitness, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and public safety education.
